Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand on the team-based action game it pioneered when it was released 12 years ago. CS: GO includes new maps, characters and weapons and offers updated versions of classic CS content (de_dust etc.). Additionally, CS: GO will introduce new game modes, matchmaking, leaderboards and more. Valve's Doug Lombardi said, "Counter-Strike surprised the gaming industry by becoming the world's most played online PC action game almost immediately after its release in August 1999." he said. “Over the past 12 years, it has remained one of the most played games in the world, hosting competitive gaming tournaments and selling 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand the award-winning gameplay of CS and bring players on PC, next-generation consoles and Mac. ”
