Power Manager extends the scheduling functionality provided by OS X's Energy Saver. Unlike Energy Saver, Power Manager is multi-user aware, offers unlimited schedules, provides greater customization, and supports a wider range of actions.
Power Manager includes the ability to schedule applications, launch documents, and run scripts. Includes AppleScript support, Automator operations, command line interface, and programming interface.
The Power Manager 4.x application reveals more information about events and the scheduling engine. The app now offers two views: events store and engine.
The event store shows all available events for the scheduler, including those that disable them. This view is based on the previous interface. Here events are created, named and managed.
New engine view shows events like a timer. A two-stroke triggered event will appear twice in the engine view; Once per trigger time From the Engine view, scheduled events can be set, triggered and canceled. These actions were previously possible via the status menu.
Power Manager is now distributed as an application rather than an Installer package. Like any other app, to install it just needs to be placed in the Applications folder. Power Manager does this automatically. Therefore, after downloading, all that is needed is a double click. The application then guides the user in setting the timer without having to restart or process the Installer packages.
