Find Any File (FAF) 2.3.3 b7 MacOs

Info

Find Any File searches your local disks by file name, creation or modification date, size or type, and creator code (not content). Since there are other tools with a similar search process, here are the features specific to Find Any File:
  • It has a new hierarchical view of found items, making it much easier to browse through 100s of items (see screenshot).
  • It can run as root by finding any file on your disk, including those hidden from regular users.
  • Can save queries and run them again later.
Unlike Spotlight (i.e., the Finder's Find command), it does not access a previously created database, but searches the selected volume directly. This lets you find any file, including those inside packages and those excluded from Spotlight search. So it's great for finding system files, for example. On the other hand, it can take a little longer than Spotlight and is only fast on HFS(+) volumes. But it can be surprisingly fast, even on network volumes attached to a Mac OS X server. As such, this is not a complete replacement for Spotlight, but it can be useful in certain, if not most, situations.
