Flowstate lets you choose how long you write for (5, 15, 30 min), then you enter a flow session. If you quit early or stop typing for more than five seconds, all progress is lost. The only way to save your work is to write until the timer expires. Flowstate is billed as the “most dangerous app”. It's an exaggeration, of course, but there is some truth to it. The software is a writing and note-taking tool and is a super clean, minimal, and beautiful way to jot down your thoughts, especially on mobile devices. But its key feature is the ability to set up scheduled typing sessions in which any text you put on the page will disappear when you stop typing for more than seven seconds. You can choose from five fonts, including graphic design-friendly favorites like Futura and Apple's new San Francisco. You then set a timer for between five and 180 minutes. As soon as your fingers stop pressing any key, the text starts to disappear. After seven seconds, your page will remain blank and the timer will reset unless you press a single key to bring back the text.
