A professional workflow adds impressionism styles per layer. With layers, users can mix styles using brushes to paint or overpaint areas in the image! Also included is the powerful Ellipse Detail tool to add fine painted details to faces, flowers, or create focal points in landscapes. Once completed, resize and press ‘Apply’ to create small brush strokes within the Ellipse. With layers, photographers and artists now have the power to combine multiple impressionism styles for impressive results.
IMPRESSION STYLES
- Alla Prima (‘wet-wet’ or ‘at once’) – great for portraits! This beautiful painting style begins with filling the painting with plenty of brush strokes. A library of artistic surfaces complements this style by adding light, color and movement with controls on strength.
- En Plein Air (outdoors) is perfect for views. This stroke-filled effect consists of eight artists’ palettes created by famous impressionists. Use them as is or arrange the paint colors to make your own palette. The Save Preset feature keeps the palette and all layers intact for future projects.
- Tache (‘dot’ or ‘blot’) applies broken brush strokes across the image. The technique of laying down thick patches, flecks and patches of color is perfect for making the paint look like it has been stripped from the surface. Apply a light dab of spackling or fill in the image with dabs of color – the choice is yours!
- A canvas layer is added to each image created. By creating a canvas layer, it can now be turned on or off to display the strokes created in previous layers. As with traditional methods, the canvas is an integral part of the image, so we locked the layer to prevent it from being accidentally deleted.
