Invaluable in post-production, Silhouette continues to bring best-in-class tools to the visual effects industry. Using a fully stereoscopic workflow, all of Silhouette's capabilities are stereo enabled, including award-winning rotoscoping, non-destructive paint, keying, matting, warping, morphing, and 2D-3D conversion tools.
Developed over years by those working in the trenches, Silhouette runs like a well-oiled machine. You'll stay up to speed with minimal effort and have the tools you need to tackle the toughest shots. As visual effects artists, we understand ourselves, your challenges and timelines. Our goal is to help you get the job done right, on time and on budget.
• Crop Node The crop node crops the image and session to a user-defined size. This is especially useful when you need to work on a smaller area of a larger image as it will use less memory and render faster. • Edit> Copy Action Duplicates a selected object at the same level in the Object List, unlike Copy/Paste, which places the pasted object at the top of the Object List. • EXR 2.0 Multi-part Support Roller now supports EXR 2.0 Multi-part files. When a multipart file is loaded, all parts are loaded into the Project window. • Input / Exit> EXR> Use Data Window as Display Window Input / Output> EXR> The Use Data Window as Image Window option overrides Silhouette's default behavior where it automatically loads the Image Window of an EXR file. It is necessary to reload the project or environment for this preference to be enabled. • Frame Step and Point Trackers Point trackers are now available in Viewer> It complies with the Framework Step. • Nuke Export - Internal Blur Support Internal Blur is now supported for shapes exported to Nuke. • Paint: Duplicates Strokes from One View to Another Strokes from one view to another. If a layer with stereo offset is selected before duplicating, the stereo offset is taken into account when duplicating the hits. • Painting: Playback Selected Events Forward or Backward strokes can now be performed forward or backward depending on whether you select the Playback Selected Events or Redirect Selected Events (Arrowhead) icons. • Paint: In Paint Stroke Order Rebuild, Rebuild now always rebuilds in paint stroke order, not in time order. • Render> Slap Comp> Invert Now there is an option to invert the Slap Assembly in Render Options. • Script: Ability to Find the Source of a Node Added node.getInput (index = 0) and node.getOutput (index = 0) to allow you to trace the primary node's chain to a target node. • Script: Extensions Added an "import extensions" to the startup.py script and added a scripts/extensions directory to be used for non-action extensions such as the included rv flipbook extension. • Script: getInput() Script Helper A user asked for a simple input box so the user can enter a parameter into a script. • Scripting: Global Dictionary Added fx.globals as a root-level dictionary to support a global place for scripts and UI elements to access shared values. This has been added to make it easier to set up startup scripts that can be used by the user interface, such as an integrated booklet name. • Script: Hook Enhancements Multiple hook functions can be registered and executed per hook. • Script: Hooks - New Added the following script hooks: “frameChanged” and “selectionchanged”. • Scripting: Keyframe Utilities Previously, there was no easy way to determine whether a time was a key or had surrounding keys. New key methods have now been added to Property. • Script: Pan and Zoom Keyboard Shortcuts Pan and Zoom keyboard shortcuts can now be reassigned. • Script: SFX_SCRIPT_PATH Support Multiple Paths in SFX_SCRIPT_PATH can now take a colon-separated list of paths (Mac + Linux) or semi-comma-separated (Windows). • Shape> Blur Type Preference To set the default blur type, select a Shape> Added Blur Type preference: Center, Inner, Outer. • Tweak Software> RV Integration RV> When a path is entered in the command preference, the “Send to RV” option appears at the bottom right of the Render window. If this is enabled, once created, the created clip will be sent to the RV playback software if loaded.
