Subtitle playback and verification
Play CEA-608 and CEA-708 titles as well as SCC, DVB, TTML (iTT and SMPTE-TT) and WebVTT, SRT and STL subtitle files to verify timing and accuracy. Switch is the only software player with full support for CEA-708 subtitle decoding, including 708-only advanced features such as Unicode character support. Improved Performance
Telestream continues to refine and improve our playback and indexing performance within the Switch. Particular attention was paid to caption decoding performance and to ensure we were performing file system reads and writes efficiently and only decoding data that was actually needed.
Growing File Support
The ability to open and play files while they are still written to disk enables live capture workflows that include previewing live video capture quality by extracting portions of currently transcribed video for use in social media promotion of live productions, and the ability to confirm media encoding of content from live capture systems.
OP-47 / OP-42 Teletext Headers
The Switch now has the ability to decode and display OP-47 and OP-42 Teletext titles. This support maintains format parity with Telestream's captioning tools MacCaption and CaptionMaker, allowing users to play their captions and view them to confirm positioning, style and synchronization accuracy without the need for expensive hardware decoders.
Teamwork
The new collaboration feature allows users to create and display flags with comments, errors, or feedback on the timeline. Share these flags among team members using a side flag file to allow collaboration to occur without making any changes to the video. Understanding the flags document formatting enables automation systems to create reports that can be reviewed and visualized on the timeline!
