SQLEditor makes database design easy
Add tables and columns, indexes and foreign keys with a mouse click. See everything you've created displayed in front of you. You can zoom out to see an overview of the structure, zoom in to see details, everything remains editable at all zoom levels. The inspector panel shows object-specific editing options for each object type, and you can edit multiple objects at once.
Working with your existing database
Import it into SQLEditor, easily make changes, and then update the database with your changes. Use the different sidebar to see the changes you made in the current session or compare it with another file. SQLEditor can create a diagram from both source SQL files and live databases. You can also import and export Ruby on Rails migration files. SQLEditor saves all the instructions it uses so you can see what's changed, and you can preview the changes before exporting if you want to check accuracy first.
Presenting your database
After you create your database, SQLEditor can help you present your work to your clients, customers, or boss. You can export it in PDF or PNG formats for use in presentation programs and websites. Why not draw a diagram in your presentation to show how all the tables fit together? Documentation creators may find a SQLEditor image useful for explaining how tables fit together or which objects are linked together.
SQLEditor works with other tools
SQLEditor can create diagrams from SQL snippets, tables can be pasted into SQLEditor, rearranged and copied in minutes. SQLEditor parses the SQL it finds in the clipboard and converts it into objects you can edit. Need to quickly create table in command line sql client? Create in SQLEditor and simply paste! And it works the other way too, if you have some SQL you need to visualize it.
Major databases Supported
You can export to major database systems including MySQL, SQLite, Postgres, and Oracle. SQLEditor customizes the generated SQL to work with your desired dialect. SQLEditor also supports Ruby on Rails migration and editing schema files. We also have an experimental Django plugin.
System Requirements
