In Stygian: Reign of the Ancients, the player progresses from a doomed Arkham into the depths of the Abyss. Create your own character based on 1920s archetypes and carve a path through a broken and mysterious world. Your desperate struggle against forces beyond your understanding will be over. Physical combat will be difficult, spell checking will have dire consequences, and your mental health will be pushed to the breaking point due to unknown deteriorations. Sometimes the best solution will be to escape from what lurks beyond the threshold.

- A new magic system that sometimes takes more than it gives. Becoming a master of the occult isn't as easy as shooting colorful missiles from your fingertips. Stygian black magic is powerful, but it can cost you your sanity, your health, and possibly much more.
- The fight in Stygian is not to save the world, because that battle is already lost. Pursue your own goals in these last times: redemption, vendetta, or perhaps something darker.
